Do not miss the deadline to submit candidates to the IWRA awards.
The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) is pleased to invite nominations for the 2026 Honorary and Fellow awards, recognising outstanding contributions to water resources management and long-standing members .
IWRA members are encouraged to submit nominations before the 30 June 2026 deadline. The selection for both Honorary and Fellow Members will be finalised at the end of August.
Are you interested in nominating a member, but don’t hold an IWRA membership?
What is an IWRA Honorary Membership?
An IWRA Honorary Membership is the highest honour bestowed by IWRA and is awarded to those who have made significant contributions to the field of water resources and/or attained acknowledged eminence in a field of water resources, as determined by the Executive Board upon recommendation of the Membership and Awards Committees.
Honorary Membership is awarded to:
1. An external water professional or policymaker who has had a profound and distinguished career in the field of water resources; or
2. An IWRA member who has made an outstanding and sustainable contribution to the water resources world.
An IWRA Honorary Member enjoys free membership for life and retains the designation indefinitely.
What is an IWRA Fellow Membership?
The IWRA Fellow Membership is also granted by the Executive Board upon recommendation by the Membership and Awards Committees.
IWRA Fellows must have been members of the organisation for at least ten years and made a significant contribution to IWRA and to the field of water resources.
IWRA Fellow Members pay for the Silver level membership, but are automatically upgraded to the Gold level membership.
If you have been an IWRA Member for 10 years or more, we strongly encourage you to self-nominate for the Fellow Membership award.
