Call for Nominations – IWRA’s 2025-2027 Executive Board Elections❗

The Association is excited to formally announce that the nomination period for candidates for the upcoming IWRA Executive Board elections, spanning 2025-2027, is officially open!

As a valued member of IWRA, you have the opportunity to nominate esteemed colleagues or even consider self-nomination. The nomination window is open from today until  Saturday, June 15th, 2024. 

To submit nominations please fill in this form with the following information: 

  • Full name of the candidate;
  • Current affiliation (if any) of the proposed person;
  • Position being nominated for (see below);
  • Country the candidate is from;
  • Preferred email for contact;
  • Other issues you deem appropriate;

Positions Available

Eligibility for Nomination

The positions available on the Board are:

  • 1 member for President;
  • 3 members for Vice-Presidents;
  • 1 member for Secretary Generall
  • 1 member for Treasurer (must be from the United States);
  • 1 member for Membership Committee Chair;
  • 1 member for Awards Committee Chair;
  • 1 member for Scientific, Technical & Publications Committee Chair;
  • 10 members for Directors.

Please note that, as per IWRA Bylaws, geographical diversity is crucial, with the President and Vice-Presidents required to represent different regions. Additionally, no more than three members from any single country can be elected simultaneously. IWRA is committed to enhancing diversity, and in particular, welcomes nominations of women and young professionals.

To be considered, nominees must:

  • Have paid their membership fees by the end of the nomination period and ensure validity for the October elections;
  • Be willing to serve if elected;
  • Run for only one position;
  • Not have held the same position in the 2019-2021 and 2022-2024 Boards;
  • Not hold positions in conflicting organisations.

For nominees to be accepted as candidates, they must:

  • Have paid their membership fees so their membership is valid before the end of the nomination period, and is valid for the October elections;
  • Be willing to serve if elected;
  • Run for only one position;
  • Not already have held that particular position in the 2019-2021 and 2022-2024 Boards;
  • Not hold a position in another organisation that could be considered incompatible.
All Board members will be required to participate in a minimum of two Board meetings each year, usually held by teleconference.  They must also be willing to serve on committees and to actively help the Association identify new sources of funding through grants, projects, publications and events.

Please note that Bronze members are ineligible for Board positions and voting rights. If you wish to shape IWRA’s direction and contribute to decision-making, we encourage upgrading to a Silver or Gold membership by clicking here.

The list of nominated candidates will be published in the Association’s quarterly newsletter – IWRA Update, on IWRA’s website and social media channels in September this year.  The online ballot to vote these candidates will be held in October 2024.
