2nd Islands Water Congress - Montego Bay, Jamaica
The International Water Resources Association (IWRA), in partnership with the Water Resources Authority of Jamaica (WRA), is proud to co-host the 2nd Islands Water Congress, taking place in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from 27-29 January 2027.
The Islands Water Congress is a leading global forum dedicated to freshwater management in island contexts. Under the theme “Resilient Islands: Securing Water for Sustainable Development in a Changing World,” the Congress convenes policymakers, scientists, practitioners, researchers, and island leaders from across the globe to confront the urgent and interconnected water challenges facing island communities.
Building on the success of the inaugural 2024 Congress in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, the 2026 edition in Jamaica places island voices and lived experience at the heart of global water discussions. Through dynamic exchanges, cross-sector dialogue, and shared learning, the Congress fosters collaboration across regions and disciplines while transforming knowledge into practical strategies for resilient island futures.
