We are pleased to announce that the Call for Proposals for the 2nd Islands Water Congress, taking place in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from 9–11 December 2026, is now open.
Co-hosted by the International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and the Water Resources Authority of Jamaica (WRA), this second edition of the Islands Water Congress is one of the world’s leading global forums dedicated specifically to freshwater management in island contexts.
Under the theme “Resilient Islands: Securing Water for Sustainable Development in a Changing World,” the Congress convenes policymakers, scientists, practitioners, researchers, and island leaders from across the globe to confront the urgent and interconnected water challenges facing island communities.
Building on the success of the inaugural 2024 Congress in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, the 2026 edition in Jamaica amplifies island voices and perspectives into global water discussions. Through dynamic exchanges, cross-sector dialogue, and shared learning, the Congress fosters collaboration across regions, sectors and disciplines while transforming knowledge into practical strategies for resilient island futures.
