DESCRIPTION:THE 2020 MEETING\n\n\n\n\nBrazil is deservedly well known for its great football and music\, a sure recipe of joy. The 2021 Groundwater Congress will highlight that water makes up this joy into a trinity since Brazil has about 10% more water than the other two countries that have most fresh water in the world together. \nOur groundbreaking 2021 Groundwater Congress gathered three large water groups\, International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH)\, Latin American Groundwater Association (ALHSUD) and Brazilian Groundwater Association (ABAS) to bring you a meeting with proposal and objectives. \nGroundwater professionals bring joy to places where water is scarce and health is threatened by it. A local well put in place by technology and knowledge that we worked to create and disseminate changes the lives of people for better. These experiences are wonderful and shared among the members of our groundwater community. \nOur 2021 meeting will engage the largest global groundwater community in the world. Enough of events that start and finish on given dates and leave little legacy and with frontiers between participants and society. Engaged community is the future of the events. And our event has already started with the construction of the community of the members of the participant entities who have the opportunity to digitally interact now. \nThrough our meetings we change the world because with them we built relationships\, we share experiences\, we know results from research\, we better the public policies and we have access to all the products that the industry and service providers have created and developed. \nGroundwater is paramount to sustainability and we mean it by our day to day work and research. DESCRIPTION:The Water Security and Climate Change conference (WSCC) is an annual event where scientists\, policy makers and stakeholders from various sectors discuss the diverse facets of water security and its relation to climate variability and change. \nThe WSCC strives to go beyond science and build bridges between various disciplines and sectors as well as different groups of stakeholders. Serving as a platform for discussions about water and food secure societies\, by providing a stimulating environment with the intention of yielding innovative ideas and grounds for implementation\, the WSCC is continuing a series of successful conferences in Thailand\, Germany\, Kenya and Mexico. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe WSCC is an initiative of the ‘Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation – exceed’ program\, and has been implemented since 2016 under the auspices of the Centers for Natural Resources and Development (CNRD) and the Sustainable Water Management in Developing Countries (SWINDON) network. The scientific committee includes the Food Security Center (FSC) as well as the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). \nIn 2021\, WSCC is convened by the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources (VAWR) in Hanoi. Due to the currently uncertain situation\, it was decided to implement the Water Security and Climate Change (WSCC) conference in a virtual format. DESCRIPTION:Bringing together scientists\, operators\, policy makers and civil society to address water security and global challenges in Megacities\nParis\, New York\, Beijing\, Mumbai\, Tokyo\, Buenos Aires\, Mexico\, Lagos… all Megacities – urban centers which accommodate more than 10 million inhabitants – are facing “mega”-challenges related to providing water services for their inhabitants\, while managing their environment. Climate change effects of intensifying magnitude and global challenges such as sea level rise\, increasing temperatures or urbanization\, threaten these cities. Now\, there is a need for action to achieve resilient cities. \nA transversal and multidimensional solution is proposed\, based on the collaboration among scientists who advance knowledge\, operators (in both the public and private sectors) who innovate technically and socio-politically\, and local politicians who can support new\, fairer and more efficient models of water governance\, in constant interaction with civil society. \nThe Second International Conference on “Water\, Megacities and Global Change” (EauMega 2020)\, will take place from 1 to 4 December 2020 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris\, to bring all these actors together\, 5 years after its first edition\, also known as EauMega 2015. \n\nCall for papers\nDeadline: 29 February 2020\n\nObjectives of the conference\n\nProduce a scientific and technical overview of water management in Megacities in order to identify and update the most important issues\,\nStrengthen the dialogue between science and policy actors\, and\nOfficially launch the Megacities Alliance for Water and Climate (MAWAC).\nMAWAC aims to provide a platform for Megacities to share their experiences and challenges\, propose solutions\, and to obtain access to technical and financial support for programmes and projects\, enabling them to successfully overcome the challenges of climate change.

DESCRIPTION:India has built 5334 dams which includes Bhakra\, Tehri\, Sardar Sarovar and many more mega projects. 437 large dams are under construction. \nThe 88th ICOLD Annual Meeting & Symposium will provide an excellent platform of exchange in the fields of Energy & Water Resources Development and Management. \nThe Indian National Committee on Large Dam (INCOLD) has prepared an excellent program in an exciting venue\, with a Symposium on the theme ‘Sustainable Development of Dams and River Basins’ and a Technical Tour which will include the famous Taj Mahal and its incredible water devices. \nIndia is a country where 50000 MW of hydropower potential developed\, but 100000 MW are waiting to be developed.  Dam Rehabilitation Improvement Programme (DRIP) and National Hydrology Project (NHP- 175 Million dollars) being funded by the World Bank is being implemented in almost all the States (28 nos.).  The approved cost of DRIP Phase-II & III (687 projects)  amounting to US$ M 1600. It is therefore a land of opportunity for dam professionals. \nFurther\, an extensive trade exhibition opportunity is available to dam/hydropower companies\, instrument manufactures\, consultants\, contractors and other Govt. as well as private agencies involved with the development of dam/ hydropower engineering in difference countries\, to display their capabilities and expertise besides interactions with the decision makers\, and also to find joint ventures to participate in the dam rehabilitation works and also in the development of dam/hydropower engineering projects in India. \nWith around 1500 participants from 100 countries\, it will be a unique occasion to meet high level dam experts and decision makers from that very promising part of the world.
