KS4. IMPACT PATHWAYS AND THE ADOPTION OF INNOVATION
Moderator: Boru Douthwaite, Challenge Program on Water and Food, Sri Lanka

The ability to transfer knowledge and adopt innovation is an essential factor in building adaptive capacity. In water circles there is growing debate over how technological innovation can support decision-making under increasing uncertainty represented by multiple and simultaneous changes such as population growth, climate change and economic crisis. This session will discuss how explicit attention to the possible impact pathways of research findings and their uptake in policy and practice through technology and innovation can play a role in the governance of water and how it interfaces with stakeholder-driven water management.
