The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) is looking for a consultant to be the editor for its Policy Briefs. 

The IWRA Policy Briefs typically coincide with special issues of the Water International (WI) journal, allowing interested readers with a brief, readable, attractive overview of the timely water policy issues raised in those issues by leading experts in the field.  To this end, the editor will work with the authors (usually guest editors of a special issue of Water International) to help put their ideas into the proper format, ensure the language is suitable for a general audience, with at least initial backstop from the WI Editor-in-Chief and the IWRA Executive Director, and coordinate the production with the layout expert.   

The position comes with a stipend of 200 euros per published issue, approximately 4 times a year.  This is a unique possibility to get involved in the cutting edge of water management and network with multidisciplinary and multi-sectorial water resources professionals, organizations and institutions from all regions of the world.

The IWRA Executive Office is currently looking for an intern to provide a support in preparation of the upcoming World Water Congress (more information about this event at: www.worldwatercongress.com). This internship position offers a unique opportunity to network with major stakeholders from the water sector, and take part in a key international event in Cancun, Mexico.


                    - Logistical and communication support, in connection with the Congress hosts CONAGUA and ANEAS
                    - Support to the International Scientific Committee on the development of the Congress programme

Candidate Profile:




The position starts as soon as possible and would be for a term of 6 months.

Salary and work conditions:

€550 / month (net)
Subsidised lunch and travel in Paris
35h per week at the Executive Office of IWRA located at l’Agence de l’Eau Seine-Normandie, and co-hosted by the French Water Partnership

Joint-Master Programme on Water Cooperation and Diplomacy - Applications Open for the 2017 Academic Year

The Water Cooperation and Diplomacy Joint Master’s Programme is recruiting competitive applicants from around the world for enrollment in a two-year, three-degree international master’s programme. Students of the Programme have the opportunity to earn three master’s degrees by completing two years of focused scholarship at three premier academic institutions: as a cohort, students begin their experience at the University for Peace (UPEACE) in Costa Rica, and they continue at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands and then at Oregon State University (OSU). Students of the Programme cultivate cutting-edge skills in water cooperation and diplomacy by 1) establishing a strong theoretical and applied understanding of peace and conflict studies and water management and governance, 2) gaining hands-on skills training in both the Global South and Global North contexts for actual water dispute resolution processes, and 3) networking with a wide variety of experts, professionals, and representatives in the field of water and governance. Students customize their academic programme based on their skills and future career goals while they complete the three stages of the Programme.
